Verl Weight. For those of you who are fairly new to the Sacramento Family History Center on Eastern Avenue, you should know that Verl was the founder of the center in 1962. He donated the first book (that he had written) and he remained in his calling as center director for around 35 years! Seminars, staff training, and all that went on at the center was under his direction. Verl went through the rigorous accreditation program at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and was very knowledgeable in family history. Those of us who have been at the center for more than 6 or 7 years remember him well. He will be missed. He is the author of the following books available at the Family History Library: Name Weight, Verl Fredrick Titles Annual directory of California genealogical societies As a tree grows (a preliminary history) : a genealogy of the Cox and allied families of northwestern North Carolina and the known descendents who have scattered thru out the United States A branch of the family tree (a preliminary history) : a genealogy of the Woodie (Woody) family of northwestern North Carolina and the known descendents who have scattered thru out [sic] the United States Captain Samuel Johnson of Wilkes County, North Carolina--ancestry and descendants Cemeteries of El Dorado County, California, Heart of the 1949 gold fields, vol. 1
