Sacramento German Genealogy Society PO Box 660061 Sacramento CA 95866-0081 OK FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Upcoming topics at the Sacramento German Genealogy Society The next meeting of the Sacramento German Genealogy Society will be on Tuesday, May 24, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. St. Mark’s is located at the corner of Lusk Drive and St. Mark’s Way in Sacramento. The speaker will be Ingeborg Carpenter, who will present “Traditions Affecting Marriage and the Family.” Ingeborg was born and raised in Germany and is a certified teacher of German. She will discuss how our German ancestors lived their everyday lives, in accordance with the rules of church, state, and tradition. Entrance to the SGGS monthly meetings is free and visitors are welcome. Guests and members are encouraged to arrive for the meeting a half-hour early, to allow themselves time to socialize and browse the society’s informational tables. The tables feature German genealogy-related books and other genealogical aids for sale, German reference and library tools, and back issues of the society’s quarterly “Der Blumenbaum.” There are always mentors in attendance who share your interests and are eagerly awaiting a chance to discuss German genealogy, answer your questions, and compare notes on research.
