    3. The Genealogical & Historical Council of Sacramento Valley is saddened to report the death of our dear friend and long-time recording secretary, LaRayne Green. LaRayne passed away quietly in her sleep early Thursday morning, February 3. LaRayne dedicated more than 30 years to the Sacramento LDS Family History Center, where she served as a shift supervisor and was very influential in the decisions regarding the purchase of new materials. She was a well-known instructor at family history center seminars, and was also a popular speaker at genealogy society meetings throughout the Sacramento region. In addition to her extensive knowledge of genealogical research, LaRayne also was known for her expertise in adoption research. She volunteered countless hours to helping others in their pursuit of family history. A graduate of McClatchy High School, LaRayne spent much of her life in Sacramento and retired as secretary from James Marshall High School. She served as recording secretary of the Genealogical & Historical Council of Sacramento Valley continuously since 1990. She will be sadly missed by the entire genealogical community. LaRayne is survived by Charles, her husband of over 60 years. She is the mother of five children, 19 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. We extend our deepest condolences to Charles and his family. Services will be held Tuesday, February 8, at 10:00 am at the LDS Stake Center, 2745 Eastern Avenue, Sacramento. Internment at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Barbara Leak, President Genealogical & Historical Council of Sacramento Valley president@sacvalleygenes.org
