    1. Selling of tombstones for gardens

    3. I can not think of any as disrespectful as selling tombstones right from a cemetery. I think the family has the right to chose what is done with at tombstone if they replace a new one with an old one. The owners of the cemeteries should make it a rule not to sell them........remember the tombstones are own by the family.....unless they ( the tombstones are purchased by an agent........like the Department of Veterans Affairs. To make everyone really sad........ I guess it is a lot kinder to sell the stones to someone who will used them rather than place them in a pile under a tree, against a fence, to act as a down spout to take rain away from a building or worse of all to use as flooring in a barn..... Thank goodness, we have OGS who has their branches faithfully go to every known cemetery and transcribe them. By the way, a tombstone that is leaning or can be a hazard to someone safely must be removed and repair. 40% of all funds received to purchase a cemetery plot must be put " In trust" for PC care, as this is a province of Ontario law . There is also a new bylaw which by the size of the stone a fee is collected and it is placed in the "Monument Care fund" Sheila
