Hi All, I am trying to locate my grandmother's uncle who reportedly immigrated to Canada from the Preston area in Lancashire, ENGLAND. I have just received the service record of James PARKINSON, b. 27 Feb 1894 in Preston, Lancashire, who lists his mother as Sarah and father as Zacharias. The address given in 1916 was 87 Shaw St., Hamilton, Ontario. Based on this I found the following in the cemetery database for Ontario: PARKINSON James J. White Chapel Memorial Gardens Wentworth Hamilton HM-168-1 PARKINSON S. Hamilton Wentworth Hamilton HM-303 PARKINSON Sarah White Chapel Memorial Gardens Wentworth Hamilton HM-168-1 PARKINSON Z. Hamilton Wentworth Hamilton HM-303 PARKINSON Zacharias White Chapel Memorial Gardens Wentworth Hamilton HM-168-1 There is also an entry on the service record suggesting (hard to read) that James died 18 July 1950. There is a possibility that he had a sister Audrey (my grandmother's vague recollection). I thought originally that the James I am looking for had a father William born ~1868 but there is also a brother Zacharias b ~1870, both born in Liverpool. My grandmother may therefore have been confused in her recollection. Zacharias (b ~1870) is in the English 1901 census but I haven't yet found William in 1901 (England or Canada). I do not know exactly when they would have immigrated. Could anyone look up the cemetery records above and let me know the dates etc., I would love to be able to link this family back to my ancestors (possibly James grandparents!): Zacharias PARKINSON (1835-1884) and Elizabeth Mary PARKINSON, nee BAILEY (1838-1914).
