This is a great mailing list. I am hoping I will be able to get some mysteries solved! I am looking for a cemetery transcription for a Samuel Smart. Samuel Smart wife Martha Porter died young and is buried in Cartwright Union cemetery (I have a picture of her headstone sic Potter). I have an idea that maybe Samuel remarried sometine between 1851-1861 to Eliza, but have not proved it thus far and is buried elsewhere.. On the 1871 census, Samuel is living on Concession 3 Lot 98 South West Toronto Sydenahm Road, near Markdale Ontario, Glenelg Township as a tenant. This land belongs to his son-in-law Thomas Fagan. In 1871 Samuel is recorded as being 74 years old and a weaver. Please would someone do a look up on the Glenelg cemetery transcriptions to see if there is one for Samuel Smart or any other Smarts.
