    3. It's back! It really is back! Thanks to the efforts of fellow Lister, Christine and the site owner, Heather, the elusive McColl Cemetery site is back online. It appears that when they moved from one office to another, it caused a glitch on the site. So, if you want to reach the McColl Cemetery site, try it again: http://www.kilvicocharmaig.yk.net/McCollIntro.html I just spent some wonderful time there.... but now I am shaking my head over what I found. It seems as though every question that gets answered raises about a dozen more! On this site, in addition to very thorough descriptions of the stones in the cemetery (good job, West Elgin Genealogical and Historical Society members! Those stones are old enough and lichened over enough to be difficult to read.) there is a list of burial records. So I checked through that listing for my Charles and Sarah SCHRADER EATON. Here is what I found: Lot 45: Hyatt Receipt in the name of Henry Hyatt for SE half, 1904. 1. Hector G. (or C.) son of Henry J & Savilla May Hyatt, 1903. Receipt in the name of Wm. G. Walters for NW half, 1904. 1. Charles Easton, 1938; 2. Sarah Schrader (wife), 19??. No burial records. Lot 46: Walters Receipt in the name of Wm. G. Walters, SE 1/2, 1904. No markers, no burial record. Okay, I will overlook the extra "s" in EATON. But Sarah's information still does not tell me when she was buried - and there are "no burial records"!!!! AAARRRRGH!!! A fellow Lister had suggested that I contact the owner of the cemetery, who might have further records, (good suggestion, that) but I don't have the foggiest idea where to start to find the owner. McColl is a small cemetery sitting back from the road, adjacent to a large field - no buildings within sight. It is just west of Eagle, which has no post office any more... perhaps I will just send a letter to the West Elgin G&H Society (I will try to find where they are located...) and *hope* that it reaches someone. I will NOT give up! My family does not call me stub... uh... determined for nothing! Another puzzler? The lot that Charles and Sarah are buried in was purchased by Sarah's brother-in-law, William G Walters (husband of sister Susannah SCHRADER)... and so was the adjacent burial site - which shows "no markers, no burial record" - possibly because William and Susannah are buried in West Lorne's Evergreen Cemetery... Must be a story there. Isn't genealogy wonderful? You really have to love putting together never-ending puzzles if you are going to like genealogy! :-\ But it sure helps to have helpful fellow Listers! In the words of my much-younger niece, "You guys rock!" Thanks. Nancy in Michigan, where the snow and cold just don't give up!
