If you would like to be a part of a new website please read on. It will be called: IN SEARCH OF All you need do is fill in a form that requires : your name, e-mail address and a list of names you seek information on in regards to their burial place. This will be a common depository where people either can leave information they required but will enable others to contact the person listed ....directly. Again the main focus will be for those searching for their family burial site . Death Cards will also be permitted as an extension of this website. At this present time, this website will be only for Ontario cemeteries and be made available to Ontario Cemeteries mailing list members only. I will post this information later on if enough interested is shown. Please direct all e-mail to me ...NOT TO THIS LIST . Subject line: New web site. Sheila
i am given to understand that there is also a radiation measurement that is able to check decomposition for several yards of depth. And there is an electric wave test that measures the varied resistivity of the ground, that can locate variations in ground density. It is used in looking for oil, water, large gold veins, terrorist tunnels, etc. and is extremely expensive. (Phoenix software, markham) Actually, an invasive method of digging a four-inch test hole to withdraw a soil core is probably the cheapest
Search for "ground penetrating radar", or GPR. I investigated it for researching my family in an old cemetery that is now in the care of the township (church from 1830's burned down). I found it cost prohibitive as a personal endeavour. Contact me offline if you would like an email contact for a company in Mississauga that rents/sells them, and I may be able to find my email chain. Good luck Ron On Sun, 26 Dec 2004 11:16:14 -0500, Bruce Evans wrote: >There's a special type of ground radar that's used for precisely this >purpose. You can Google it. There's a special type of ground radar that's used for precisely this purpose. You can Google it. Their web site is very interesting and shows examples of many older cemeteries where the ground has shifted and monuments have been moved so that the bodies and the grave markings are separated. Is there any scientific, non-invasive way to determine if a grave is occupied? If so, would that method be able to learn if the grave has been double, or even triple dug? I'm looking for information about 1860 and on. I realize caskets were of wood and the dust to dust rule would be in effect. Regards, Joyce Stevens

Would anyone know how to find a burial record for someone not found in the Ontario cemetery finder? I am looking for Telesphore Gauthier who was born in 1861 and died sometime after 1918. He lived in Kingston, Ontario. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Donna
Dear Listers: If you have a friend who has AOL for a server could you please advise them that their messages ( or at least for this list) are being bounced. Not sure when this problem will be taken care of. Right now there are 24 people not getting any messages from this list. A grinch is at work. Hope it is not the Christmas Grinch. By the way, starting December 24 and all day December 25 everyone on this list is invited to send their Christmas Wishes or other Holiday Greetings on this list. The only thing I ask if this. Please use the subject line " Christmas Greetings" So those who do not wish to read them , can delete them. Again, This will start Friday, December 24 and will end December 25 at midnight. I also invited members of this list to share with us on those two days to share with us a short success story of finding a lost loved one though the efforts of this list. Subject Line is : Success Story Bye for now. Your cold list mom. Sheila

Hi Bill, I didn't see a response to your posting on the Cem list.... so..... I had a quick look and found Magdalena listed under M.A.A. Graham (Crysdale) She died 1871-05-29 at the age of 21y-8m-18d. As you said, this was located at the Napanee Riverside Cemetery. She is listed as the wife of Joseph B. Graham. From the records I looked at there is no indication Joseph Graham is buried there. There was another entry for that particular plot but only the name "John" appears... No dates etc. Maybe she died during child birth and that is the name of the child who also died. She was rather young when she died. I look at other listings for Joseph Graham... thinking that he may have remarried and was in the area with another wife but didn't come up with any answers. Sorry. If you have any more information or suggestions I would be glad to have another look. Good luck with your research... and Merry Christmas David > Hello, > My 2nd cousin Magdalena Augusta Crysdale married Joseph Graham in 1870. > They are buried in Riverside Cemetery in Napanee, Ontario.
