    1. [ONT-Cemeteries] Thank-you list members / Update.
    2. gen-list
    3. Thanks to each and every one who has submitted information on cemeteries. We now have more than 500 on line plus link to many others. There are about 2,500 cemeteries in Ontario ( at least there were in 1988) Due to all you wonderful people, I have had to revamp the website too in order to place all the information. I hope it is user freindly. As you can guess , I am new at this. It still needs work. http://ca-on-cemeteries.tripod.com/ I will not be posting any message for a while but will be nearby if needed. Again thank-you for making this the best list ! Sheila .

    1. [ONT-Cemeteries] Advise please
    2. Sue Smith
    3. Can anyone help me please. My ggrandfather and his family emigrated to Canada around 1903,or maybe later - I am still in the process of checking street directories to narrow this date down. Family tradition is that they went to Ontario. I would like your advise on how I go about checking where he was buried especially since the area I am talking about is vast and I can't pinpoint it at all. The reason I'm opting for his burial is that all the other members of his family were female. I have tried the OCFA site, but have no idea what years this covers, also have searched emigration lists with no luck. What do you think? 3. Thank you, Lynne. That seems to be a different Rogers family than the one I am researching. There were two unrelated Rogers families living in Hanover with many of the same names. I apologize for the double posting of my query. 3. Hi Marion, Here are all the Donald and Mary McLEANs buried in Kintail Cemetery. The partial inscription from #64 should read: Then let our sorrows cease to flow; God has recalled His own; But let our hearts, in every woe, Still say, "Thy will be done." This is a verse from hymn "Why Should Our Tears in Sorrow Flow" and was often used on tombstones at the time. The transcript of the gaelic verse on #67 might be a little muddled due to the condition of the lettering. I was unable to find a concise translation in my dictionary. 2. Joyce Fischer
    3. This is going to be a great list. I do not have any transcriptions for Ontario cemeteries. I am searching for cemetery transcription for Samuel Smart and wonder if someone could do a look up please . His wife Martha Porter (headstone reads Potter) is buried in Cartwright Union Cemetery, Cartwright Township in Durham County. There is no headstone for Samuel and no death record that we can find. Apparently he remarried (have not proven this yet) after Martha died and according to the 1848-1861 census records he still lived in Cartwright Township and is living in Glenelg Township in Grey county on the 1871 census. There are many Fagan/Fagin buriels in Caledon East Public Cemetery and I believe they all belong to one family. Please does anyone have access to the Caledon Cemetery Transcriptions that would be able to do a look up for me. I have visited the OCFA but did not find out anything. Thank you in advance. Joyce
