The OVS requires more information than you are requesting. Death registrations up to 1931 are being accepted (per Archives release). There are a few more recent ones and we are trying to weed them out. Hi group - I just signed up this week and have found it to be very interesting so far. I am in the process of updating the Wigle book of 1931 which contained a family tree from the first Wigle to arrive in Canada in the late 1700's to 1931. The tree contains approx 8,000 people to 1931 so I have quite the task ahead of me to get it to the present time. I have set up a website www.wigle.ca to assist me and welcome all to visit when they have a chance and help me if they can. I am also looking for info on my maternal line, the Wakeling family of Kingston, Ontario. Thanks Marc
Re: CA-ONT-CEMETERIES-D Digest V04 #12 Subject: [ON-Cemeteries] POLL 1. NO 2. NO 3. I favour the suggestion that you save yourself a lot of work by providing links to related information (available elsewhere on the Internet). PS - Thanks for this list and the planned website.
Yes Not Crucial Suggestion: surname registry of burials that would link to photos of the same name.

Hello Listers: I need help in finding the graves of Robert Beath and his wife Euphemia Dick. I know that she died in 1913 here in Simcoe County and her body was returned to their family plot in Oshawa but I don't know which cemetery in Oshawa. Are there any others of the Beath family in nearby plots? Lillian

Kudu's and Plaudit's on a great site, and its off to a tremendous start, I would suggest it grow slowly and carefully. Just to add all the Ontario Cemetery's and lookup volunteers will be major task for both Shelia and Jan. Should there be other web sites, such a Death Index's it should be a link NOT an added page. Other different sites can also be linked as seen fit. In time a Cemetery Lookup search engine could be added for ease of search. I'm looking for information on the following: 1. John R Hamilton. I believe he died in Sept/October 1937 and was buried in the Hanover Cemetary, Bentink Twp, Grey County. 2. Mrs Hamilton, who may have been his wife, died March 1960 in Hanover. According to the OCFA, there are 5 Hamiltons buried in Hanover: John R, Clara, Evelyn B., Murray, and Roy. I would appreciate it very much if anyone has any cemetary information on these people. Regards....Peter Willcock
Hi Kathy, >, but I do have Newspaper index for Durham County Would you be so kind as to check your Newspaper index for Durham Co, for the names W. C. WHITE, Fannie R. STORRIE and Josephine RO(D)GERS? Josephine Rogers was my great-aunt, and was married to William C. White, who subsequently married Fannie Storrie after Josephine died. Josephine died between 1897 and June, 1899. I've been trying to find her date of death, as well as that of her two daughters, Winnie and Ruby White. They are all buried in Oshawa Union Cemetery. Thanks for any help you can give. Betty (in sunny Delta, BC)
1. Do you think we should add an extra website for Ontario tombstones photos > not found on line? Yes, that would be nice. I am not in Canada, but in Central Wisconsin. I can offer to look up in cemeteries for any of you who, like me, had ancestors that came from Ontario and settled in Central Wisconsin. Hi list, First of all, I would like to say how amazing I think this list is - it puts a smile on my face when a connection is made. I think it's great that so many people can help so many others. Through here in the mere couple of weeks it's existed, I have made some connections on my maternal side, now I'd like to see if anyone can help with the paternal side. I am looking for cemetery transcriptions or photographs (anything!) for my ggg, gg & gr-grandparents who I believe are all buried in the Markdale cemetery, Grey County, Artemesia Township, Reference BG (as per OFCA website). John ELLISON b. Sept. 1832 or 1833 in Dumfrieshire, Scotland. d. August 15, 1917. His wife, Mary McEACHERN b. 1833 or 1835 (conflict between two sources) in Scotland. d. August 27, 1908 Their son: John (Jack) ELLISON b. Dec. 28, 1870 d. late June/early July 1936. His wife, Annie McNALLY b. May 7, 1874 d. July 3 or 4, 1934. Annie's parents: Thomas McNALLY b. 1845 in Ireland d. ? His wife, Jane BLAIR b. either in March 1844 or 1847 in England. d. May 17, 1923 Jane's parents: Thomas BLAIR b. Feb. 14, 1811 in Durham, England d. Sept. 26, 1896 in Durham, ON. His wife, Anne KENDREW b. Dec. 7, 1807 in England d. Jan. 11, 1869 in Durham, ON Also, John Clark MacDONALD b. ? d. 1969 His wife, Elizabeth WYBEL (Wiebel/Wybil) b. ? d. 1934/5 (as a result of a car accident which also claimed her and John's son John "Sonny" at the age of 8). OFCA search results show one John ELLISON at the Markdale Cemetery, but I don't know if this is the one born in the early 1830s or his son born in 1870. Two Mary's and one Annie show in the search as well. A search of the same site doesn't return anything for Thomas and Jane McNALLY in Markdale. Sources swear that that's where they are buried, but it is possible they could be in the Durham Cemetery in the town of Durham. I cannot get any search results for this cemetery though. I have the same issue with Thomas and Anne BLAIR and John C. and Elizabeth MacDONALD. I know that the spelling of their last name switched back and forth between Mc and Mac, so it's possible it was spelled wrong. The Markdale cemetery does show a Elizabeth McDonald. The birth and death dates should be able to clear this up. I appreciate any information that can be provided and I thank those who can help in advance for your time and effort. Cheers, Kim Ellison Toronto, ON .... searching for the branches on which I am a twig. ______________________________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca

1. Do you think we should add an extra website for Ontario tombstones photos not found on line? YES 2. Do you think we should also included deaths as a part of our website? NO There is one already http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~maryc/deaths.htm 3. What would you like to see added or deleted to our website? Maybe a place to list people and their e-mail address if they are willing to do look-up at a particular cemetery or cemeteries. Perhaps you could ask every one to send in the name(s) of the cemeteries in their area of Ontario so you can build a complete list quickly.
