I have a certificate for a Burial Plot - Grave 49 Range 6 Section 6 in St. John's, purchased by Mrs. Edith Lloyd 5 Dec. 1916. I would like to know who is buried there. I'm assuming her husband Felix George Lloyd. Edith Lloyd died in 1938 and I would also like to know if she is buried there also. Will appreciate any info regarding my grandparents as I am staring at the brick wall. Joan Vancouver Island.
Wondering if anyone out there can direct me to what cemeteries would be in Richmond, Ontario. Non-Catholic. I have an obit from 1918 for a woman who died in Ottawa that says the remains would be transferred by C.N.R. to Richmond Cemetery. Thanks, Leigh....
This is a great mailing list. I am hoping I will be able to get some mysteries solved! I am looking for a cemetery transcription for a Samuel Smart. Samuel Smart wife Martha Porter died young and is buried in Cartwright Union cemetery (I have a picture of her headstone sic Potter). I have an idea that maybe Samuel remarried sometine between 1851-1861 to Eliza, but have not proved it thus far and is buried elsewhere.. On the 1871 census, Samuel is living on Concession 3 Lot 98 South West Toronto Sydenahm Road, near Markdale Ontario, Glenelg Township as a tenant. This land belongs to his son-in-law Thomas Fagan. In 1871 Samuel is recorded as being 74 years old and a weaver. Please would someone do a look up on the Glenelg cemetery transcriptions to see if there is one for Samuel Smart or any other Smarts. Thank you. Joyce
I have sent two emails but nothing has been posted is there a problem with the list?
Thank you, Nancy B., for your response. However, there must be several Lakeview Cemeteries in Ontario. The Lakeview I am interested in is in Meaford, North Grey County, St. Vincent Twp. This is where my gg/grandparents Benjamin and Elizabeth Hallock are buried and several of their children. Also, Lyn Cemetery is in Brockville, Leeds/Grenville County. Rev.William A. Hallock, ggg/grandfather and two of his sons, Lorenzo and Caleb are buried there. I thank you once again for your kind effort. Bev
I am so sorry I did find Anthony Ribble in Dresden Cemetery, Camden, Kent County also: Ribble, Asa Ribble, Asa, Capt Ribble, George Ribble, Jessie Marion Ribble, Sarah Ruble, Lily V. (Stewart) I'm so embarrassed I'm blushing:-) Does anyone have access to this Cemetery Transcription? Thank-you Lori
Hi: Looking for Birth & Death dates for Grant Thompson & Hazel ( Geraldine) Peacock) buried in Kirkline Cemetery, Bracebridge ON. Any help appreciated Pat Thompson
I'm wondering if anyone has access to the Kent County Cemetery Transcriptions? I have checked the OCFA and noticed there is not alot of Kent County included. I am searching for Anthony Ribble and have received some info indicating he died in Kent County, the OFCA has nothing for him listed. I would so greatly appreciate any information on Anthony or other Ribbles from this area (I only say that because I know there's not that many). I am from Brant County and would be more than happy to return the help. Thanks Lori
Hello: I have an odd problem. I need a good map showing the counties of Ontario. Here in BC we don't use counties as designations, just cities (as birthplaces, etc.) and I find I am woefully ignorant of Ontario's various boundaries, like 'concession' and so forth. My maternal grandparents, both sides, were from long-time Ontario families. Can someone direct me to a good detailed (but not too detailed) map of Ontario counties? If there have been changes in county lines over time, is there an historical map I should have? Thank you, Rosemary

Hi I'm looking for a burial for William B. MONTROY who died in Peterborough in 1951 but who is buried in St. John's Cemetery in Toronto. I believe he was taken there to be with his wife Jessie but have no proof of this. The last name can also have a French spelling of MONTRAIT. Would appreciate all the help I can get. I want to look up the Obit but only have the year. That's a lot of microfilm to read. Thanks David
Does any lister have the transcription of Lynn or Lakeview Cemeteries? Brockville and Meaford, ONT. I have not seen them listed. Would appreciate look ups if anyone has transcribed either cemetery.. Ancestors are Hallock. Benjamin and Elizabeth, 1892 and 1888 respectively, Lakeview and Rev. William A. Hallock, Lynn, 1836. There are more Hallocks buried in each cemetery, however, these are the main names I am interested in. Thank you. Bev
Hi If anyone out there has the transcripts for the Mt Hope Cemetery, are there any entries for the surname Virgint? Thanks Kevin Lee Waterdown, Ontario

Hello Frances: I afraid I can't help you much except to point out that both Aurora and Bradford were on the same CNR line running north out of Toronto. After crossing the Holland River and passing through Bradford, that line swung north parallel with the western shore of Lake Simcoe towards Barrie and beyond. My old map doesn't show any rail link to Bond Head which is located about 6 miles west of Bradford and about mid-way between two north/south CNR tracks. However, that second line runs north out of Hamilton and does not appear to have a station that would be any closer to Bond Head than was Bradford. Hope that helps. Hi, I live close to Elora, and would be willing in better weather to go to the cemeteries in Elora and have a look if no one else comes up with anything......do you know what religion these folks were? W.S. FRASER of Aurora, ON died in Medicine Hat AB in 1925. He was buried in the Second Presbyterian churchyard in Bond Head, Simcoe County. Questions: 1. Would his death be registered in Ontario as well as in Alberta? 2. What are the chances of finding and accessing funeral home records for the Aurora / Bond Head area in 1925? An undertaker in Medicine Hat would have had to arrange delivery of Mr. Fraser's casket to a colleague in the vicinity of Bond Head. 3. Would Aurora, Bond Head or Bradford have been on a main rail line from the west in 1925? 4. Are burial records available for/at the church in Bond Head? 5. Is there another Rootsweb list that is better suited to these queries? With thanks and best wishes, Frances Bishop [email protected]
