On the 7th a party of 75 Indians, well armed, attacked Daly’s Ferry, at the crossing of Mad river, 5 miles above Arita. The inmates of the Ferry House, 7 in number, were sitting down to supper at the time of the attack, and made a rush for the river, which was reached amid a shower of bullets, the Indians pursuing and firing upon them. They were obliged to land their canoe and separate in the woods. Mr. DALY reached Arita with the intelligence, and a party started immediately after the Indians.
