WOOD was drowned while crossing a creek near Spanish-town, San Mateo county -Charles A. FRYER and Wm TAYLOR were both killed by the caving in of a bank near Deadwood, caused by the washing away of the props -A deck-hand on board the steamer Visalia, plying between Sacramento and Red Bluffs, was carried overboard on Tuesday afternoon and drowned -Capt. Giles A. BUEL, Morris FLOOD and Samuel JONES, of Michigan Bluff, were drowned while endeavoring to rescue some persons who were in imminent danger -L.H. POWELL, of the O.M.C., reports finding the body of a boy at the 1st bridge this side of San Jose -3 horses were found drowned in Jajas creek. One of the horses had a Spanish saddle; the other 2 had side saddles, and it is supposed a whole family had perished -Eldridge LAVELAND, aged about 20 years, was drowned in Tassajera Valley on Thursday last, while attempting to ford a stream -Horace G. BEGLEY was drowned in the San Joaquin, a mile above New York. -Michael DONOVAN was drowned while attempting to ford Islais creek, on the old San Jose road. -A young man named TOLES was drowned in the Carson river -A man named Andrew THACKER was drowned while attempting to cross San Lorenzo creek, in Castro Valley -A little son of Simon KNIGHT was killed by a land slide caused by the constant heavy rains -A Frenchman named JORDAN was drowned near the Enriquita mines, Santa Clara county, last week -Nicholas KLINE, a native of Luxemberg, Germany, was drowned in the Yuba, about 6 miles north of Downieville. -A little girl 13 years old was drowned in a mountain stream about 2 miles from the Enriquita mines -Judge S.R. CAMPBELL, who was en route from San Bernardino, got lost, during the storm and perished -John PROCTOR was drowned at Six-Mile Bar, while endeavoring to save some property -The schooner T.H. Allen, plying between San Francisco and Northern ports, was driven ashore at Humboldt Bar, on the 14th inst., and 1 seaman lost. The remainder of the crew reached the shore in safety. -4 men and 2 women were drowned near Chinatown, Nevada Territory -H. DAYTON lost his life in the Carson river by the washing away of the Phoenix Mills. -Mr. Henry VAN VALKENBURGH, of this city, [San Francisco?] was killed near San Jose by the falling of trees during the severe storm on Sunday. -A boat containing a lieutenant and 3 soldiers was swamped while on its way from Sacramento to Camp Union, and 1 of the soldiers was drowned. -H. BAILEY and M.F. POE were drowned in endeavoring to reach San Rafael in a boat from point San Quentin. -Thomas SOBBINS was drowned at Knights Ferry on the 10th. -Edward DEERING, at Jacksonville, Tuolumne, on the 10th. -20 Chinamen, at the same place, on the 10th. -John PROCTOR, at Two-Mile Bar, on the Stanislaus, on the 10th. -5 dead bodies found in the American river, on the 13th. -Judge KELLY, a negro boot-black, at Sacramento, on the 11th. -J.B. WELTY, on the Sacramento river, on the 11th. -A Chinaman, drowned near Sutterville, on the 15th. -5 Chinamen, at Uniontown, El Dorado, on the 10th. -Buell MARSHALL, Henry LEARNED and George A. JOHNSON, killed by snow-slide caused by the heavy rains, at Excelsior Hill, Sierra county, on the 8th. -Calvin CLEVELAND, crushed by a tunnel cave at Nevada, caused by heavy rains on the 11th. -William WOOD, drowned at Half-Moon Bay, on the 11th. -A Frenchman, drowned at Sacramento City on the 11th. -A woman and 2 children, at Daytown, N.T., on the 11th. -Nicholas KLINE, near Downieville, on the 12th. -A.J.
