One of the lines parted at first, but with the other Mr. SHERMAN managed to keep them under control until that parted also, when they became wholly unmanageable, and dashed off at railroad speed. Coming down Main Street they headed for the sidewalk of E. HOOK and Company - runaway horses generally do - but a dry goods box dexterously shied at them compelled them to shear away, and keep on their course down street. In the mean time their antics had become generally known, and on passing BACON'S Store, a lariat was skillfullt thrown by E. LeGRAND, which arrested them immediately. The buggy was badly damaged. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ CA-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news! TM http://www.NewspaperAbstracts.com
