The challenge was accepted, and terms were rifles, 60 paces to wheel and fire. William G. MORRIS and James E. NUTTMAN were WORTHINGTON’s seconds. Judge TERRY and James QUINN acted as PORTER’s seconds. WORTHINGTON’s friends claimed their right to insist upon fighting in San Francisco county.
