Hi! I am trying to pick up the trail in California of my Craddock's. Thomas Elmore Craddock, Sr (b. 1781 in VA, died 1869 in Yuba Co., buried in Browns Valley Cementery) came to California sometime after 1850 from Madison Co. Missouri. One of his daughter's, Elizabeth, had married a John Rule in Mo in 1844, and moved to Rule Ranch, Sonoma Co., California shortly thereafter. After Thomas' wife, Hannah, died, ca 1845, Thomas, his daughter Margaret Johnson, her children, and some of Thomas' sons came to California. I believe that the sons that came were the sons that were living with the family in 1850....Caleb Craddock (b. 1829) and Edmond Craddock (b. 1826). I have been told that family members died along the way. I have been told that when Thomas died, some of his family left, and some stayed. I have found the family (or some of it, in records) of Margaret Craddock Johnson's descendants. The ones I have found are of daughter Jane Johnson and Jacob B. Grandstaff. I have found no reference to Caleb or Edmond Craddock. Any help picking up this trail will be greatly appreciated. Barbara Craddock Pike
