    3. Dear List, I have gotten anew book about the Southern Routes into Calif. in 1849. In it is a bibliography of the sources of documents on the Southern Routes into Calif. The book is called To California on the Southern Route by Patrica Etter and I recogmend it to antone interested in the Southern Routes into Calif. Below find a index of original documents concerning thses routes. These documents include books, letters, diaries, and etc. I will not copy everything Mrs Etter says about these documents but rather just give you the information about where they can be found if you send me a private email. This is not a complete index from this book as I have omitted referances to referance books and concentrated on personal documentation of 49'rs themselves. This index is divided up into the trails used by the 49rs, ie The Gila Trail, the Southern Route and various trails up through Mexico from it's various ports used by 49'rs.
