Hi, Bob: This was a great series of articles. Since my father's ancestors came from Nantucket MA by ship, around the Horn of S.A., maybe one of their ships is still in the S.F. harbor (VBG). Don't I wish... Some returned to Nantucket via the Isthmus and sailing to New Orleans, sailing to MA where they dragged the rest of the family to CA by Panama, too.
