Mary came to California in late 1849 or early 1850 with her family from Australia aboard the ship "Maria." Mary Sullivan's father was James SULLIVAN (b. 1814, Ireland); one of her sisters was the actress Maggie MOORE (born Margaret Virginia SULLIVAN, July 10, 1851, in San Francisco). Mott's date of arrival in Califronia is uncertain. By 1875 they had moved to Virginia City, NV. Mary died in 1884 and Mott in the 1920s.
