Lynne... Gosh, I don't think I can help on John FOLKS unless he is indexed in the CA information file or NDGW. The CADI just goes from 1905-1995 - no earlier, no later. Have you tried to see if the Monterey Genealogical Society might be able to help on this? Sandra ps - even IF you do get the death certificate you can't be sure the parents' names will be on it - the information on these certificates is only as good as the informer - sometimes a spouse or child who does not know ANYTHING is the one who gives this information.
