Jamie, I hope someone has told you that your travel plans are slightly off. There is no "swinging over" to Sierra County from Los Angeles. LA is over 700 miles away from the county. Your trip would be like flying into Atlanta, Georgia and swinging over to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Trust me, I've done that trip many a time and only way I do it in under 12 hours one way is my current age <36. Otherwise it's two days just to get there. But don't be too discouraged, the trip is great and well worth the time. I would suggest flying into San Fran. or Sacramento. From Sacramento you could get there and back in two days without any problems. Hope this helps with your trip plans. CB
