Actually we only have one volume and the librarian in Sacramento, I'm assuming at the CA room, said there wasn't an index. (I hope that was accurate information! There isn't an index in this volume.) Geri and Bob Moser, who host the Stanislaus Genealogy Book Nook at their home, read first and wrote, I've been typing from their handwriting and re-reading while I type. It's tedious but I've found the stories fascinating and I hope I'll find some ancestors. Wish history had been this interesting when I was in school!
