Hello, I'm new to the list. My 2x grandfather John Kempthorne went to California in 1852. I do not know where in Ca. but thought possibly he went for the gold rush. He was last seen there in 1857 or 1859. Any suggestions where to look for information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Susan
