Hello, I am looking for any information on "A.D.A.[Augustin Damien Andre] Champion" b/1829 in France. Arrived in San Francisco in Dec.1849. He first went to French Camp and then to Mariposa Co. where in 1852 he applied for his American citizenship. At some point I believe he left Mariposa, and went to Toulumne CO. where he was a merchant of dry goods. I am looking for any thing that might place him there? Perhaps the name of his store? or a newspaper article? Census? He was a well educated man. In 1864 I find "A.D.A." back in Mariposa owning, with partners, a mine. "The Santa Cruzita Gold and Copper Mining Company Vein". I do not know if he was still in the dry goods trade at this time.
