March 6 1926 Inyo Independent Miner Killed John POOLGLASE (generally called John POOL) a miner, was crushed to death on March 4th by a large rock that rolled on him while at work in the Defiance mine, near Darwin. He was a native of England and about 50 years of age. He came to Inyo County some fifteen years ago. May 12 1955 Sacramento Bee In Grass Valley, Nevado County Mary A. POLGLASE, mother of Thomas POLGLASE of Nevada City, Nevada County, Mrs. Helen NINIS of Santa Clara; John POLGLASE of Redwood City, Mrs. Annie GARIBALDI of Richmond, Richard POLGLASE of Downieville, Sierra County, and Samuel POLGLASE of San Mateo. Sister of Mrs. Charles BAIRD of Grass Valley; native of Grass Valley, aged 87. Burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Sacramento Bee June 25 1952 In Nevada City, Nevada County, Laura POLGLASE, wife of Thomas of Nevada City. Mother of Gladys, Albert, and Robert. Sister of Mrs. Emily SANDOW and Mrs. Alma RENFREE and Mrs. Edith POLGLASE of Grass Valley; grandmother of Jennefer Linn POLGLASE , native of Grass Valley aged 72. Burial in Forst View Cemetery. Nevada City Daily Union March 9 1906 Thomas H. POLGLASE is no more. Thomas Henry POLGLASE was one of the best known miners in the district. He was 59 born in England.He leaves his wife and the following children: Thomas, John, Helen, Vinnie, Annie, Hazel, Benjamin, Frank, Richard and an infant 9 months old. Benjamin and Frank are presently living in AZ. Let me know...
