Family lore is that Green Don BYERS descended from one of 11 or 13 brothers that came from Scotland/England. Have you heard of such a story? Based on the 1860 Greene Co., AR census my G. D. Byers was born in SC about 1837. Family lore is that he was from York Co. He joined the CSA AR infantry and was killed at the Battle of Helena, AR in 1863. His grave site cannot be found.
