She was married to Hugh Minton in November 1858, in Wilkes County, NC. (Hugh MInton was previously married to Elizabeth Martin.) I don't know the name of Malia's parents. Census records show she was born in NC, probably in Watauga County. Her date of birth is hard to calculate because of discrepancies in the census records - she was probably born between 1830 and 1840. Her children were Matilda, John Henry, Julie and Ellen B. Minton. Any information regarding Malia Byers Minton will be appreciated.
