I am a descendent of Malinda Byers. I have been told that Moses Byers looked indian. The county historian (whom is also my cousin) says she has seen a photo of Moses and that he looked native american. Several of his children married persons of native american descent from several different southern tribes. Canzady died before Jerome as far as I can tell by the probate record. I would look at the death records of her oldest siblings to see if you can find out her maiden name. I see no marriage record for this couple in Tennessee. Since the courthouse burned twice I am not surprised. Rumor from middle Tennessee is that Canzada Stanton was the wife of Jerome. That is all I know at the moment. One more thing, there are 3 burial grounds in Tennessee with our family members. Putnam County, Jackson County and Overton County. I only have information about Putnam. I will have to look into the other two the next time I go to Tennessee. Let me know if you have any more questions.
