BYERS, WILLIAM S., of Pendleton, was born in Baden, Germany, August 6, 1835. He came to America when he was six years old, and in 1874 located in Pendleton, where he is conducting one of the largest flouring mills of the Pacific Coast. He is a sterling Republican, having voted for Fremont in 1856, and for every Republican president since. He has been an almost constant delegate to the county, state and league conventions for many years, and is always ready to do what he can do for the success of the party. -Tony Larson
