We recently were able to prove a common ancestor my brother and a third cousin twice removed. The common ancestor is their fourth great-grandfather. The families are listed in the American Boyers book, 7th Edition, Volume III, 1992. The chapter is 27 and family code BA. This chapter os from page 108 thru 413. Anyone having family in this chapter an who are interested in proving their connection to this family, please contact me. Its website is www.americanboyers.org. It's been a while since I used these books, but as I recall, the first one takes about 8 or so Boyer family lines beginning with the first Boyer in the line to emigrate to America and traces each line down to the time the book was published (1915). There was a major supplement (or revision, not sure which) in 1940, and there have been a lot more supplements since then. Really quite an impressive body of work. These books are somewhat daunting to use, especially the first one, but they are a wealth of information for any Boyer family history research. If you are part of one of those Boyer families, a lot of your work has already been done. The Association and these books have been mentioned a number of times on this board, so maybe someone will do a look-up for you. (I don't own any of them, unfortunately.) At least some have been put onto CDs, but I would recommend you find the actual books if you can, at least the 1915 or 1940 ones, as a starting point. I believe the Association sells the books and they can probably be found at antiquarian books stores or on eBay, but they are a little expensive, especially if your family is not in them. I don't know where you live, but the books are available at some large city libraries and genealogical libraries. I am descended from one of the Boyer families in the books, but not yours. Feel free to e-mail me if you want to discuss more or if you think I can help you. Rich Cunningham richcunninghamny@aol.com ______________________________
