I am interested in this Franklin, too. I see a Franklin Byers, age 2, in the 1880 census of Eaton County, Michigan. He lived with his parents, Albert and Eureka Byers. I'm wondering if the 1920 Census Franklin is the same, because Eureka was originally from Portage County, OH, just over the border from Crawford County, PA. Also, the 1920 census shows Albert Byers living with a different wife, Sybella, in Crawford County. The two of them are buried in a Portage County, OH cemetery, so I'm thinking Albert may be Franklin's father, and the same Albert who was earlier married to Eureka (my great-grandparents through their son, Clyde, who was born after Franklin, in 1889.) Eureka's father was named Erastus Franklin (E.F.) Johnson from Portage Co., and bought a farm in Eaton Co., MI, so there were family connections to Michigan early on. Eureka was married three times, with Albert being her first husband, but I haven't been able to find a divorce record. A third chil! d was born to Albert and Eureka, Nellie M., and she and Clyde show up living with their mother and her husband, Mr. Lewis, in the Portage County, Ohio census for 1910, I believe, but there is no Franklin. It's looks like Franklin went with Albert when he and Eureka divorced, and Clyde (my grandfather) and Nellie went with their mother. I can't find Nellie because her name would have changed if she married, so I'm trying to find Franklin and his living descendants. My grandfather named one of his sons Frank, but refused to tell my grandmother or his children anything about his background except that he was born in Ohio. The family of Erastus Franklin Johnson has several Mayflower ancestors documented at the Mayflower Society. Let me know what you find.
