Hi everyone. The only Byers of mine I know of, also came from Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Our Frances Byers, born in 1812, had a brother John born 12 Aug 1816 in Wrought Mill, Westkirk, Dumfriesshire, and a sister Christian born 1817. Their father was George but we don't know much about him. Frances married George JOHNSTON (originally from Carlisle, Cumberland, England) in South Australia on 23 Feb 1848, and although we don't have an emigration date yet, we do know that John Byers emigrated to South Australia in 1839 on the "Fairfield". His wife was Margaret Carruthers. Christian married John Hutton in 1851 in South Australia, and then William Balls in 1857. We have further information about George and Fanny's descendants, but nothing more on the others. Any assistance would be appreciated, and any connections would be wonderful. Thanks in advance.
