Dear Byers Cousins and Friends I have been trying to find the parents of Green Don BYERS born 1837 in SC (based on 1860 census data). He was in 23 years old and living in Gainesville, Greene Co., AR in 1860. He was listed as an attorney. Family lore is that Byers brothers (as many as 11) came to America from Scotland. I have GD's civil war records, which do not answer the question. If anyone researching Byers from SC can help I would in your debt. Phil Di Matteo
If you haven't already, try going to the Byers Genforum site at http://genforum.genealogy.com/byers Read back thru all the old threads. I'm sure I've seen entries on this name.
