A list of the Conawago Colony Baptism list contains the name Jores Byer and Anna Catriena Sa(smuged) which is believed to be Sams. They were Baptised on 13 Nov 1785 which would be about the time of marriage or this is the date of marriage. I believe this to be George Frederick Byers and his Wife. Jores is the same as George. I am decendent through Henry Byers born 1788. Don Byers Lubbock Texas Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Hi Donald: You are doing great at researching your Byers line. Now what we need is someone new to join our DNA test group and have a match with your George Frederick Byers b. ca. 1750 Germany d. ca. 1800-1810 PA/Catharine Sams. I hope everyone will look at your family line on our Boyer/Byers DNA test page. http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Boyer/ Donald is Test #69771. We still have not indentified what chapter George Frederick Byers is in the "American Boyers" books. Does anyone on the List know where we could find him in those 7 volumes? What was the name of the Church where you found the record? Wouldn't that be Conewago, York Co., PA? I think I found it. http://www.rootsweb.com/~kymercer/LowDutch/Conewago.html The following is taken from "The Conewago Colony - Baptisms 1769-1793" by A. Van Doren Honeyman, Somerset County Historical Quarterly Volume 4 - 1915. I have kept the names spelled as recorded. Names enclosed by [ ] are my guess at missing This is a baptism record naming the father, the mother and the child that was baptised on this date.
