The Byers and Taylor wedding in this announcement are my great grandma and grandpa. BYERS-TAYLOR WEDDING August 26, 1924 Byers-Taylor Wedding Tuesday A wedding of much interest to the many friends of the bride and groom is that of Miss Helen Byers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Byers of Castalia, to Dale Taylor, of Venice, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Taylor. The ceremony took place Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at the parsonage of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe, Michigan and the Rev. Frinke officiated. The attendants were Miss Jean Soutar of this city and Russell Taylor, a brother of the groom. The bride looked charming in a grey Georgette crepe with hose, shoes and a hate to correspond and the bridesmaid wore a black satin gown and a small fall model hat of black. A wedding dinner of beautiful appointments was served at the home of the bride's parents at six o'clock Tuesday evening and forty guests were privileged. The bridal table was lovely with autumn flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor will make their home with the bride's parents for at time. Mr. Taylor is employed on the Steuk Vineyard and is well known in this vicinity. He has been manager of the Crystal Rock ball team until lately and before that was manager of a Venice team. His bride is well known and popular and they have the best wishes of their many friends for future happiness.

Greetings, When sending for a copy of my Calvin G. Byers marriage License with Anna (Aldana ?) Salmons I was sent a copy of the marriage of C.B. Byers to Mable E. Hess. This was in Grayson Co., Texas dated 30 September, 1915. Since I do not YET know my Calvin's family, this could be a brother....I just don't know. But, if someone is looking for this info, please let me know and I will forward it to you. Regards, Doris Kirschke Brown . . . . .a Texan in Florida dkirschke@bellsouth.net

They farmed land on the South Fork of Tumlinson's Run in the lost county of VA, Yohogania Co, according to land records of 1775 but sold that land to Dorsey Pentecost in 1779. They moved to KY that year and settled in then Hardin Co. Daniel was a revolutionary war soldier and fought in two of Gen George Rogers Clark's campaign against the Indians. One researcher, Col. George Byers (deceased) believed Daniel's father to be Thomas Byers. Since Daniel is my brick wall, I have decided to start collecting as many early Byers family trees as possible. I am hoping to eventually to make a connection that will lead me past him. I would appreciate receiving by email or mail anything that your are willing to share of your family tree and Byers research. Likewise, I am also willing to share. I use Family Tree Maker 2005 and GEDCOM files are great. Email: mikebyers@alltel.net Address: 134 Stratmoor Dr, Elizabethtown, KY 42701

My Byers line in Scotland ended with Balfour BYRES and Janet CLARK who married in 1791 St Cuthberts Edinburgh. Around 1800 they seem to have moved down to London. My ancestor was born there in 1804, William Archer BYERS. He died in 1835. I know that Balfour's father was Archibald BYERS. Due to the popularity of her name, I am stuck with Janet Clark. Archibald married Margaret HOUSTON/E. This is all on the IGI. Archibald's father was Thomas and his father was Margaret HENRYSON/HENDERSON. I can't get any further back with Thomas and I am seriously desperate to. Please please please help if you can! Chloe Chloe.Perren@btopenworld.com

I was tracing the wrong tree then. The Ann that I mentioned in my post actually died in infancy. My Ann Byers was born down in London. Her father was George Byers. His father was Scottish.
