Author: selsorhd Surnames: Byers Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.byers/289.309/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Gregg, I am from the Byers of Jackson Co Ohio. John Byers died 1803 in Gallia Co Oh. His estate mentions names including a mother named Sarrah in Montgomery Co Va. Estate administered by son Edward Byers who settled in Jackson Co Oh. I believe these Byers are from Augusta Co Va originally. An Isaac, David and William Byers are connected and end up in Preble and Darke Counties.. Have researched Chalkey's Chronicles. Identified a William who was there about 1754 who settled on Col Pattons lands. Found reference to a Capt John Byers who lived on or near same propety that Wm Byers lived on. Have seen the information you reference also about Ireland connections. Would like to collaborate. contact me at selsorhd@mac.com if interested.
