My husband & I were in an antique store in Folsom, California over the 4th of July week-end and I found a wonderful family history book ~ pictures w/names and dates. The store keeper was a bit taken back by me and I wasn't able to copy much and the cost was a bit steep (54.00) for a family book of no relation, so here is all I was able to obtain. If you are related let me know; I have the business card for your contact information. Era & Edgar Byers G.M. & Mary Jones Joseph H. Jones Mary J. 1. [BYERS] Martin Family in GA
    2. ShaniFaye
    3. I am trying to locate information on this Martin family Georgia Ann (or Georgiann) (maiden name unknown)Martin born Jan 1858 died 10-5-1921 (death certificate) Her death cert says her father was Riley Martin born in Ga, mother unknown. Children: Samuel born abt 1882, William Salvage b abt 1884 I do not know the fathers name for these children, Georgia Ann is listed as single on the 1900 Dawson Co census, and a widow on the 1910 Fulton Co and 1920 Forsyth Co census. And as she is listed as being a Martin by birth I'm not entirely sure she was ever married. Samuel married into my Byers line when he married the youngest daughter of Redin Byers, Lula A. They were married in Dawson Co in 1903 and had (according what I've been able to find) Cleo, Burl, Otto, Austin, Ira, George, Moline, Judge, and Hoyt Martin between 1905 and 1922 (I'm adding this to the Byers group just incase there are any Byers out there that know this line) I would really appreciate any information someone might have Shannon Join the growing genealogy community on a new social networking site made JUST for genealogists!! http://www.ancestralspace.com

    1. [BYERS] Query on location of Byers in Pickens Co SC
    2. ShaniFaye
    3. Is there anyone on the list(s) that is a descendant of William and Mary Roper Byers, or James Riley and Susan Lesley Byars that could give me ANY idea where in Pickens County they lived? I mean actually point me to a location? We are having a memorial service for William's son Redin Byers to dedicate his VA stone in September and I'd really really really like to get some dirt (dont laugh) from the area he lived in to put on the grave. 3. Hi Shannon: The Boyer DNA project includes all variant spellings of Bayer, Beyer, Boyer, Boyers, Bowyer, Byers and we can add in Byars. The webpage includes the DNA results and the family lines we are tracing. We hope you will join us. It must be a male with the Byars last name that you have tested for his Y-DNA. http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Boyer/ Any questions, please write to me. 1. [BYERS] Boyer DNA Test Group
    2. Gwen Boyer Bjorkman
    3. I wanted to let you all know that as of 5/13/2008, we have 28 completed tests that are arranged in 18 groups on our Boyer DNA webpage. http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Boyer/ The tests are now arranged on the "Y-Results" page in the numerical order of the markers that make up the numbers that are the Haplotype of each test. On the "Goals" page there is a list of the Chapters of the "American Boyers" books that are represented in the tests. On the "News" page the Groups are all shown by the test numbers that are on the "Y-Results" page. And on the "Results" page all of the family lines are given in the same order that they are found on "News" and the "Y-Results" page. Let me know if I have made any mistakes. We have two new tests that have been ordered this month and I will post their family lines just as soon as they send them to me. One is a Beyer and one is a Boyer. We are looking forward to seeing who they will match and we hope that many more of you will join us. You join right from the FTDNA Boyer DNA webpage address given above. 1. [BYERS] FW: [BOYER] New Boyer Y-DNA results
    2. Gwen Boyer Bjorkman
    3. We have a new 12 marker Y-DNA results to report for 116985 Brent Leo Boyer. He did not have any matches in our Boyer DNA tests, but he did have a genetic distance of two with four tests so there is a possibility that with more markers tested he might have a match. 114682 Charles Boyer 2 78745 Carl Boyer III (Y37) 2 86243 Daniel Robert Boyer (Y37) 2 89550 Deron Kieth Boyer 2 However, Brent has his Boyer line traced back to Hans Boyer of the "American Boyers" v. 3 BA Chap 27 and that is our Group 8 with three matches. So even from the 12 marker test we know that the three men in this group are definitely not related to the new test for Brent Boyer. I hope that Brent is writing to Carol Byers and Marvene Boyer and they will be able to get this Boyer family line figured out. For now we will start a new Group 17 for Brent Boyer. Group 08 We have three matching tests in this Group. 26074 Hans Beyer (1680, Switzerland d. 1756 Conestoga Twp, Lancaster Co, PA) 46572 Hans Beyer (1680, Switzerland d. 1756 Conestoga Twp, Lancaster Co, PA) 94694 David Boyer (b. ca 1790 Bedford?
