Calhoun County was carved out of Chickasaw County in the early 1800's. My GG grandfather was Joab Byars, his older brother was James Byars, but I don't think his name was Jesse James Byars. Both are buried in Macedonia Church Cemetary, near Calhoun City, Calhoun County, Mississippi. James Byars founded Macedonia Church in 1843.
