Please excuse the cross-posting to the BYARS and BEYERS lists; I have previously posted this on the BYERS list. Is anybody familiar with this family: 1) James Thomas Byers and Delilah Jane Harrison were married in Henderson County, TX in 1903. (Delilah's family was probably in Henderson County in 1900.) Marriage certificate does not give parents' names. Nothing found in 1900 census. James Thomas Byers was supposedly from Louisiana. So far, we have not found James Thomas Byers and Delilah Jane Harrison in any census records. 2) Their first child, Aveard Byers, was born in Lamar County, TX in 1904. 3) Their second child, Obert Byers, was born in Henderson County, TX in 1911. I am not a Byars researcher, but have some information about Diadame Byars from Tn. She was the first wife of my Grandfather, David W. Bush and she died during the Civil War. I have found on the 1850 census Warren tn. a Joseph Byars who I believe may be her father. I just thought someone may have this family and wonder what happened to her. Katy

Your query regarding Andrew and/or Evan Byars: Chickasaw County is a county in Mississippi, later it was divided in half to form Chickasaw and Calhoun County, which is the reason that many Byars names are listed in Chickasaw and Calhoun County. Both of these counties are in north central Mississippi. Kemper County is south of these two counties and borderies Alabama on its east boundry, the County seat of Kempter County is De Kalb, and is west of towns York, Livingston and Gainesville, Alabama. Now regarding Andrew and Evans, the info that I have is as follow: (I will only give brief info) if want more info email me <rrbyars@aol.com>: William Byars and Sara Ann Doggett, William married Sara, dau of Bushrod Doggett and Ann Stribling, Sara was born. 1738-1743, d. Aug 12, 1823. Their son was James Byars, info sheets indicate James married Elizabeth Walker, dau of Thaddeus Walker and Nancy Byars dau of Nathan Byars. James Byars and Elizabeth Walker Byars had 10 children: William, Jane, Robert, Nancy, ANDREW J. BYARS, James, EVAN BYARS, Martha, Thaddeus and Druscilla. Although the name listed on the info sheet is James Byars, we find in the Jefferson County, Alabama Orphans Ct. Bk 1832-1837, that children James, Evan, Martha, Thaddeus and Druscilla Byars are awarded to Nathan Byars. They are listed as "Children of Joseph Byars, deceased". ?Joesph Byars may have been Nathan Byars brother?(Not documented).
