Welcome back to Patsy Desilets who has successfully rejoined this week. If you haven't already contributed, we hope to hear from you soon. ****** ****** ****** Following my post last week with a date calculated from the 1871 Census date, I have been asked off list about all the available census dates - for the benefit of those who don't have them down pat, here's the list again:- 1841 overnight Sunday 6 June / Monday 7 June 1851 overnight Sunday 30 March / Monday 31 March 1861 overnight Sunday 7 April / Monday 8 April 1871 overnight Sunday 2 April / Monday 3 April 1881 overnight Sunday 3 April / Monday 4 April 1891 overnight Sunday 5 April / Monday 6 April 1901 overnight Sunday 31 March / Monday 1 April *** 1911 overnight Sunday 2 April / Monday 3 April >From the above, it becomes clear why some people quote one date and others another. However, dates (as per my example last week) are generally computed from the relevant Monday. *** NB 1911 will not be available for general access until 2 Jan 2012 except by personal application - you have to be able to show you are a direct descendant, and have to give just one name and the address - if either is incorrect, that's all you get told - no refund. One would hope that the early 2002 debacle over the availability of 1901 is NOT repeated in 2012 ?!? ****** ****** ****** Feel free to join in and present your own items.
