Hello list, I am trying to trace the beginnings of one of my relatives Isabella Hay (nee Orr) Isabellas parents were James Orr and Agnes Pettegrew. From what I can gather the Orr family moved to Maybole, Ayrshire prior to 1841 as they were on the Maybole Census for 1841 but the section for where they were born were all out of the county. Anges Orr 45 William Orr 21 yrs occ seaman Isabella Orr 19 yrs occ Agricultural Labourer Mary Orr 12 yrs James Orr 9 yrs Daniel Orr 6 yrs James Orr does not appear on the census so I assume he has died or living elsewhere. Looking through the LDS site I found this information James Orr b abt 1802 Kilmory Bute Married Agnes Pettegrew 1 Nov 1819 Kilmory Bute Agnes Pettegrew b 1796? Children William Orr b 1821 Isabella Orr b 1823 John Orr b 1827 Mary Orr b 1830 James Orr b 1833 Daniel Orr b 1835 So I suppose the question I am asking does anyone know of this family's history in Kimory, Bute? Also does anyone have details on the parents of James Orr and Agnes Pettegrew, or their siblings? Hope to hear from someone.. Thanks Jenny
