I have just joined the group, but have been having some problems with receiving the digests. I'm hoping that has now been sorted. I have some notes written by my wife's great-great-grandfather, Peter Mayor CAMPBELL who was born in 1838 in Stevenston, Ayr. In these notes he says his mother was born on the Isle of Arran, though her brother and her father seem to come from Coatbridge way. So I would be interested if anyone has come across the MAYOR name (sometimes MEIR) around the 1800 period. I thin Mary MAYOR may have been the daughter of Peter MAYOR and Ann MUNN. John -- John Rouse
