Many of you are likely to be aware that a new worm has appeared over the last 24 hours or so that does NOT require an attachment to be opened in order for the virus to be activated. It's called by various names by different AV providers, many of the names "Beagle" or "Bagel", and there are a number of brand new strains, including -O, -P, -Q, -R, -S, and -T Microsoft users need to make sure the preview pane is turned off, and provided they have AV software running and keep it current by regularly updating it there shouldn't be a problem. For further information on this (and all other) virus threats, please see http://securityresponse.symantec.com/ or the web site run by your own Anti-Virus supplier.
