He supposedly granted our family the Isle of Bute by ancestral right. I am not sure if we are related to him or were just given the Isle out of the goodness of his heart, or because we had been there for quite some time. He shows up in Norse sagas as King Myrkjartan. I have been searching for further evidence of our relation, if any, to this king who happens to be a descendent of Brian Boru(ma). Now wouldn't that be interesting?
