Dan CAMERON [B:1826, D:1908, M:3 Dec 1852 Millport] married Barbara LUSK [B:1830, D:1912]. Children: my grandmother Barbara CAMERON [B:1862, D:1941, M: c.1896] married John CUNNINGHAM [B:1849 Millport, D:1922 Millport] - baker. This was his second marriage; the first being to Mary STEWART who died in 1889. There were three children of that marriage. Siblings of Barbara CAMERON were Hugh CAMERON, John CAMERON, Agnes CAMERON, Dan CAMERON [M: ?, ch Dan, Janette], Alec CAMERON [M: Margaret CRAWFORD, ch Barbara, Margaret, Alec, Jenny], Archie CAMERON [M: ? STEWART, ch Jessie (M: Jack McKIRDY), Barbara (M: Ian KERR), Ian, Molly]. Children of John CUNNINGHAM and Barbara CAMERON were: my father John CUNNINGHAM [B:13 Jul 1898 Millport, D:27 Aug 1987 Canterbury, Kent, M: 1932] radio officer and BBC engineer. He married Mary CASSELS [B:26 Jan 1900 Brodick, D:14 Mar 1978 Ramsgate, Kent]. I, another John CUNNINGHAM [B: 9 Oct 1933], was their only child. My career was in the Royal Navy [1951-1987], but unfortunately I never reached NZ! My father’s siblings were Daniel CUNNINGHAM [B:1900 Millport, D:1978 Stirling, M: May THOMSON] – master baker, Alec CUNNINGHAM [B:1902 Millport, D:1979 Stirling, M: Jenny BARBOUR ch Cameron] – baker, Robert CUNNINGHAM [B:1905 Millport, D:1989 Millport, M: Agnes SHIELDS [B:1911 Millport, D:1994 Millport] ch Sheila, John] – baker, joiner. Many of the above names and dates came from my father and haven’t been checked against other sources. I don’t yet know where Barbara LUSK came from but there’s a good chance that she provided the LUSK presence in Millport that drew Marion to retire there. I’m new to this genealogy game but hope this is understandable and of interest. John
