I have recentlylearned that James HOGARTH, a distant relative of mine, was a Glasgow trade union leader in (I think) the 1930s, and was sufficiently prominent by the time he died to receive obituary notices in the UK national press. Before moving to Glasgow the family was in North Bute and before that (pre-1840s) it was in West Kilbride, Ayrshire. I would be happy to share my information about this family, going back to the 18th century, and would be particularly interested to hear from anyone who can point me to further information about this James HOGARTH in particular.
