I have been researching the name Currie for about 5 years and managed to trace as far back as my G.G.G.G. Grandfather. I will give you a brief summary of the information I have gathered. John Currie born abt 1806 in Achingallon, Kilmory, Isle of Arran. He married Catherine Sillars (born abt 1810, in Achingallon, Kilmory, Arran) on the 22nd November 1831 in Kilmory, Arran. They had six children: Walter born 27th August 1832, Mary born 5th February 1835, in Kilpatrick, Kilmory, Arran, Catherine born 19th February 1837, in Tormore, Kilmory, Arran, James born 17th May 1839, in Tormore, Kilmory, Arran, Donald born 20th October 1842, in Tormore, Kilmory, Arran, Elizabeth born 17th January 1844, in Tormore, Kilmory, Arran. Ronald born 1846, in Kilmory, Arran. William born 1849, in Kilmory, Arran. Ann born 1855, in Kilmory, Arran. I decend from Walter, he married Ann Jane Bell (born 1833 in Edinburgh, Scotland) on 11th September 1853, in Ayr, Ayrshire. They had six children: Alexina born 26th March 1854, in Ayr, Ayrshire, Catherine Sillars born 1st April 1855, in Ayr, Ayrshire, John born 23rd December 1856, in Ayr, Ayrshire, James born 28th January 1859, in Ayr, Ayrshire, Elizabeth Stewart born 13th November 1860, in Ayr, Ayrshire, Walter born 18th December 1862, in Ayr, Ayrshire. I decend from John, he married Mary Kesson (born 17th March 1859) in Govan, Lanarkshire, I do not know when they were married. John was a boiler maker and migrated to Australia in 1879 to Peterhead, Pt. Adelaide, Adelaide, Sth Australia. John and Mary had five children.
