Regarding the below inquiry about millers I can perhaps provide just a little. My ancestor, Hugh McBryde, was Factor to the Earl of Bute. In his capacity as "Baillie Deputy in this Baillery of Bute" he heard a case in March 1753 involving an "Andrew Gillie Tacksman of the miln of Drumochley". The case also refers to "Ascog Mill".
