Lynn, Many thanks for posting the Kingarth OPR notes. I see that one of your interests is Mark MARSHALL CRAWFORD. You may already know this, but Mark MARSHALL was minister at Kingarth in the early 1800s, so it seems likely that your man was named after him. According to Bute and Arran Monumental Inscriptions pre 1851, edited by Alison Mitchell, the Rev Mark Marshall died in 1820, aged 42, and is buried at Kingarth.
