Hi, I am researching for a good friend of mine as I enjoy doing research for people. I have been unable to find any information on her G.G.grandmother who died in Kangaroo Flat, Bendigo, Victoria, Australia in 1870. Unfortuantely she was married in the early half of 1853, so her wedding certificate is an early church one and only gives the partners, date and church. The only information I have is the following. FRANCES THURTLE JAMIESON Born 1827c Island of Bute, Scotland. Parents unknown. Not much to go on is it??????? I have tried the IGI's for Scotland and come up with nothing. I thought perhaps THURTLE may have been a surname along the line somewhere.( Not one on the IGI) If anyone has any information that may help, I would greatly appreciate it, as Liz & her husband Pat plan to travel to England & Ireland in 2002 and may visit the island is they can find out where Frances actually came from.
